Welcome!
I’m Jemma Saunders (also known in some circles as Jemma Penny, but more of that in my first blog for this site). Thanks for visiting.
In my day job, I manage placements for MA students aspiring to work in the film and television industries. I genuinely love it. By night… well, I’d like to think I’m a writer. I have had two historical eBooks published (one of which is also available in print) and recently had a travel piece featured in The Telegraph. As of October 2018 I’m undertaking a part-time audio-visual PhD, looking at Birmingham’s representation in film and TV, so maybe in time I’ll be able to call myself a researcher and filmmaker too.
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved putting pen to paper (or more commonly now, fingers to keyboard) and building words into stories. This site houses a mixture of musings on life and things that make me tick (history, travel, employability, maybe even cake…) alongside the odd foray into my imagination.
